Reporting to the Principal, the HS/MS Drama teacher divides classroom teaching time between the Middle School (40%) and the High School (60%). Responsibilities include the direction of two co-curricular high school drama productions each year in addition to class-based productions. Additionally, the teacher supports drama productions in TAISM’s Elementary and Middle School divisions. This comprehensive role also includes responsibilities associated with student performances, including the direction of class performances, set design and creation, publicity, and overall management of TAISM’s Middle and High School Drama programs. TAISM’s current High School Drama curriculum includes Beginning and Advanced Drama and Technical Theater classes.
In this critical role the MS/HS Drama teacher's responsibilities encompass the Co-Curricular Drama Program, which includes organization (lights, sound equipment, costumes, set design and construction and props, publicity) and direction of one HS play and one HS musical production per year.
Key to your success in this role is a solid foundation in the Dramatic Arts and the ability to transfer your knowledge and performance skills to TAISM’s MS and HS students. You balance passion, creativity and collaboration with refined organizational skills in your approach to this important role.
