Candidate requirements

Requirements: The PDEng-programme in Chemical Product Design is intended for Master graduates in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or Nano Engineering and related disciplines.
To join the Chemical Product Design traineeship, we expect:

In order to apply for the Chemical Product Design programme you are requested to submit in English, in one pdf-file:

  • Letter of Motivation in which you express your motivation for the traineeship in Chemical Product Design and for design in general (not more than 1 page A4) 
  • Curriculum Vitae (not more than 2 pages A4)
  • Master's and Bachelor's degrees transcripts including grades obtained (plus a scale that indicates the maximum, minimum and passing grades)
  • Copies of Master's and Bachelor's degrees, certified and legalised
  • A copy of your passport
  • Two reference letters from supervisors of recent (research) projects or (scientific) work
  • Proof of English proficiency from either TOEFL or IELTS, not older than 2 years:
    TOEFL: applicants taking the internet-based TOEFL are required to have a minimum total score of 100. TU Delft TOEFL Institution Code: 0031
    IELTS: if you take the IELTS test (academic version) your overall band score must be at least 7.0

Employment conditions

Employment conditions: You will be employed by Delft University of Technology (‘Earning while Learning’). PDEng positions start in February and September and have an employment basis of 2 years (1 year with an extension of 1 year).

Salary and other employments benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities.

Pay range

Pay range: 1913 Euros gross per month
